I have done most of my teaching at the Department of finance at Hanken. Most importantly, I have had the pleasure to give the Financial modeling using Excel and VBA (8 ECTS credits) course altogether 10 times at Hanken's Helsinki and Vaasa campus in years 2000-2008. I have also worked as a tutor within the Pro-Seminar and Seminar (8 ECTS credit) courses and as a tutor of three PhD students. In 2009 I had the honor to arrange the public defense of Art Thurlin, who successfully defended his PhD thesis in market microstructure. I continue to lecture the Mutual Fund Performance Evaluation module within the Certified EFFAS Financial Analyst program.
I have given guest lectures at La Sapienza University of Rome, Lappeenranta University of Technology, Turku School of Economics and University of Iceland. I have also lectured a short (2 ECTS credits) course named Evaluating and predicting the performance of investment portfolios at La Sapienza University of Rome.
In spring 2014 I will lecture the first half of the 8 ECTS credits advanced finance course Investment Analysis at Hanken, where we consider active versus passive portfolio management from both a theoretical and a practical perspective. Special emphasis is put on recent empirical research regarding active portfolio management.
